Emma Watson's Day

After enjoying some of the students' performances of their monologued songs, we moved on to watching an interview with Emma Watson from Time, in which students had to guess the questions asked.

Emma Watson has been on the news recently for different reasons, but the one worth mentioning in class today was her speech about gender equality to the UN as part of the He for She campaign addressed to encourage men to take action in the fight for women's rights and equality.
Here is the video:

What do you think of her speech and what she says about the word "feminism"?

Welcome back! Songs and monologues for a starter.

Browsing around, I came across Nina Millin and her wonderfully dramatic performances of some of Beyoncé's most famous songs as monologues. Here is an example with "Single ladies (Put a ring on it)":

So our first activity (after some questions to break the ice and meet our classmates) was to choose 10 songs in order to prepare their performance as a monologue.

Which songs would you suggest?
